Blast to the Past

Wow how time flies. I can't believe that June is Already OVER, I still need to document every thing that happened in May. May was full of fun adventures which involved friends and family. Here is a "quick" review of our adventures.

Family Reunion- On the Saturday May First, Seth, Anna and I attended a Bunker Family reunion at my Aunt Emily's house. All of my aunts and uncles and most of my cousins were there. It was fun to see my cousins and get to know them again. Aunt Amanda did a great job putting it together and we all enjoyed yummy food , swimming and fun conversations with family. with so many hands wanting to hold and play with Anna, I only saw her when it was time for her to be changed or when she needed to eat. I love that she was so content when held by the family. At one point in the evening Seth took our 2 1/2 month old Anna swimming. She was a natural and loved being in the water even though it was a little cold. She supported her head as she floated around the pool. When it came time for us to drive home (12:30 at night) both Seth and I were exhausted from the fun day and Emily so kindly invited us to stay the night. The next morning we were able to spend so more time with the Pope family, Wa, the Sizemores and the Simi crew. Thanks Emily for allowing us to stay and thanks Amanda for the planning the wonderful reunion it was really fun and I loved seeing all that where there.

Anna's First trip to the beach- Seth had to work on Saturday May 8th, so decided to take Anna to the beach with some friends that were going. Anna loved the beach and slept well while listening to the waves breaking.

When we got there I smothered Anna with sunscreen, or so I thought. That night I was looking at her face and I saw this......

I guess I had missed at tiny spot on her nose. : ( poor little girl. It didn't seem to bother her. I just felt really bad for letting her nose burn. That funny thing was that she really was not in the sun very much at all. I guess she is just like her daddy and burns easily.

Grandpa Harp and Grandma Jeanne Visit- we had the pleasure of having Seth's dad Dan and his wife Jeanne visit us from North Carolina. Anna really enjoyed spending time with them and actually gave grandpa Harp one of her very first giggles. Seth was able to take Monday and Tuesday off, so we were able to spend time two full days with them as a family. On Monday we went to the beach. It was very over cast and the weather started off pretty cold but slowly started to warm up. While we were there the grandparents watched Anna for a little while so that Seth and I were able to walk the Pier. On Tuesday, we spent the morning playing around in Costco. It was really fun. When we got home Seth and his dad went golfing. Which left Jeanne and I home. We made cookies and got to talk. We are so glad that they came and we can't wait to see them again.

Anna turned 3 months- On May, 17th Anna turned three months old. It seems like the third months was the biggest month so far for development. She started to roll over from back to tummy. Most of the time she just stops on her side and talks and plays with her toys. More about how Anna has grown and changed to come. It will be in her four month update.

Anna went to Kindergarten- I have become good friends with my first master teacher that I had during the credential program. In the beginning of this school year, I had the opportunity to help in her classroom and get to know her new kindergartners. I came back in winter when I was ready to pop and all of the students were very interested in my belly and the baby. I promised that I would bring Anna in when she was old enough. It was fun being a part of share and tell. I got to share and tell about our Anna. The students were so cute and asked me questions like... "Does she play on playgrounds?" "Does she talk like we do?" "Can she walk?" "Can she crawl?" When I said NO to all those questions one student said, " So what DOES she do then?" It was pretty funny. I also told them that if they smile REALLY big at Anna she might smile back. All of their faces turned in to BIG cheesy smiles. That truly made my day.

First play date- This year has already been the year of babies. Our ward (church group) has already had about 5 babies born to first time mom's. I thought that it would be fun for all of us mom's to get together and let the babies "play". Our first meeting was on May, 20th. Anna was the oldest at 13 weeks and the youngest was 3 weeks with one mommy who was 10 days from her due date. Since then we have had 2 more play dates and have really enjoyed our time together and watching each of the babies grow and develop.

My Bachelor's and Credential Graduation- Yeah!!!!! After 4 1/2 years of going to school FULL time, I am officially FINISHED (at least for now). I got me degree in Child and Adolescent development. I really love my major. Now that I am a mom, I am able to apply the things I learned into my everyday events. I promised myself that I wouldn't have a baby until I finished both my bachelor's degree and my teacher credential. So I enrolled in a program that let me do work on both of them at the same time, thus completing it faster so I could have a baby quicker. I finished my last semester of the credential program being pregnant. It was exactly what I wanted and I am so glad that I wanted to have Anna because now I can devote all my time to her.

The credential graduation was held on May 21. There graduation was pretty small but I loved showing off Anna.

Then Two days later, May 23, was the bachelors graduation. We decided to go the University graduation at 8 am to make sure that we got good parking. That was a great plan but it meant that we had to leave the house by 5:30 to be lined up by 7. Wow was the early. After the University graduation we headed over to where my college graduation was. My college was fairly small so the graduation went pretty fast. We were driving home by 11:30am. It was great. That afternoon we went to my friend Stephanie's graduation party. She graduated the same day that I did and we even sat together during the university ceremony. The Party was fun and we enjoyed a delicious taco bar. After the party we rushed home to get dressed in church clothing and then headed to a stake meeting about ward boundaries. Our stake presidency changed the ward boundaries and thankfully we did not loose any body, we just added some. : )

Once the meeting was over we got back in the car and went back to Fullerton to have some graduation brownies with our good friends the Johnson's. We loved spending time with them. Once we got home that night, all of us were very tired and we headed off to bed.

Memorial Day- We had a very full and fun day. We slept in and then got packed to go the beach. We went to Huntington Beach with a couple of friends from the ward. It was a little bit cold at when we first arrived but warmed up fairly quickly. Anna got to stand in sand and even sit in a whole. I think that she looks so cute in her little bathing suit. This time she did not get any sunburns.

After the beach we came home and we took Anna out the pool to swim for a little while. She was tired and the water was cold, so she did not like it as much this time. When she came in, we gave her a bath and got ready for the rest of the day. One of Seth's former co-workers from AZ was in town so he stooped by for a bit to visit. That night we headed to the park or a BBQ, croquette and Boccie ball.

The Best First Mother's day

It is Great being a Mother. I Was able to enjoy Mother's day for the first time on Sunday and Anna and Seth made it the better than I could ever imagine. Sunday morning I woke up to an alarm clock and Anna grunting. Both of those sounds where soon gone. Seth got up, turned off the Alarm and took care of Anna. I quickly feel back to sleep and then woke up again to the smell of yummy French toast and strawberries. When I opened my eyes I saw Anna siting in her bumbo holding a wrapped gift and a card that said Mom. She also gave me the best present that she could by smiling at me. When I opened the card it say, "This is for you mom because I know that you would be LOST without it. When i opened the present I found a GPS. This is something that I have needed. I seem to always get myself lost. I have used it a lot this past week and found it to be every handy. The rest of the day was very pleasant as well. Seth made lunch and dinner and changed all of Anna's Diaper. I got to take a nice long nap and it was great! I am so blessed to have such a great husband and daughter and I thank Heavenly Father for them daily. I hope that all of you mother's out there had a great day as well and I love you tons!
