New Baby Poll, Baby movements, and family updates

Hello friends and family,
Seth and I are going to be finding out the gender of our baby in about two weeks. We thought that it would be fun to put a poll on here to see what you think we are going to have.

Just a quick update on our family:
Pregnancy:
* I am 17 weeks and 5 day along. I feel like I just keep g
etting bigger and bigger. This, in a strange way, is very comforting. It reassure me that our baby is growing bigger and and stronger.

*The other night I was sitting on the couch with my feet tucked under me and I felt this strange sensation in my tummy. I first though it was a stomach spasm but It felt deeper. I waited for a little bit and it happened again. I quickly realized that I was feeling the baby's movements. OH WHAT JOY!!! These movement/ KICKS are very strong for our little one. Many told me that it would like tiny butterflies but these feel popcorn popping. I love feeling it's movements and it reminds me that our precious baby is still in there and that it is strong and healthy.

* Like I said at the top, we find out the gender in about two weeks. I can't wait. I don't like calling our baby "it". I can't wait until I can say "He is kicking" or "She is kicking".

Mr. Seth:
* Seth is doing great! He has recently got into golfing. He really enjoys it and goes about once a week. For his birthday, he got a new set of golf club that are XL's.

* Seth missed the registration time for the community college and because of the states economic situation, he was not able to drop into any classes. Therefore, he is taking this semester off... Bummer.

The Credential Program:

* Oh man, this semester is my last semester of school and of student teaching. Since I was placed in a Primary grade last semester (kinder), I had to be placed in an upper grade this semester. I was really afraid of being put into a Sixth Grade class. Most of the Sixth graders are bigger than I am and they are pretty intimidating. To my dismay, I was placed into a Sixth grade class.

* Tuesday was my first day and it really was not as bad that I had made it out to be. My master teacher is really nice and has been teaching for 37 years (Yeah, longer than I have been alive).

* The students were not as intimidating as I thought they were going to be! I am looking forward to this opportunity of growth. It will be a big change of Kindergarten but I believe that I can do it!

  1. What an exciting time of your life. Enjoy every minute of it. Did your Grammy Joni tell you that I told her that you were pregnant? I thought she already knew. It was back in August when I spoke to her on the phone & told her. I told her she should follow all of your blogs. You guys need to show her how to do that. I think she would really enjoy it. I know I am enjoying getting to know more of our family. Take care of yourself & that precious baby growing in you. Can't wait till you tell us all what you will be having.

  2. Yeah for kicking (moving) babies, i think the baby is going to be a strong one like you Katie.
I'm happy that you are on your last semester, means that you get to get all the schooling stuff almost done with before you get a wonderful bundle and you wont have to stress over school things when the baby comes home. You are going to be great in the 6th grade class and a wonderful teacher.

  3. That's one of the most magical parts of pregnancy. The next will be when Seth can feel the movements, too.

Joel will love that Seth is into golfing--now he'll have someone to go with!

Good luck with the sixth-graders! You're so great with kids, though, I'm sure you'll have no problems. :)

I voted girl on the poll simply because that seems to be the trend down there the last couple of years. However, since you're not actually living in Fullerton, maybe you'll break the trend and have a boy. Haha!

Can't wait to see you guys!

  4. If Seth ever needs another body to (attempt) to play golf, I am always game (after this week, at least, because my clubs are still in Vegas). I'm great to play golf with because if you stink, I stink along with you. However, if you're good, then I make you look like a pro!

I'm way excited to see you guys again!

  5. Lets see.....ummm...if Erin's theory is correct you will have a boy. Seems that all the boys have their birthdays in the first half of the year, while all the girls celebrate from June till December. We only have one exception-Quentin. But on the other hand, all the girls have had girls as their first born, going back to my grandma Manning. It is a toss up historically. So I will guess-------BOY!

  6. Hey Katie!!
I'm so happy you got to feel the baby move! I had no idea what it was at first either! It's really neat though, I loved it! I think you are gonna be great at teaching kindergarten too! You've always been good with kids! I miss you and I hope you are feeling better!
    Oh! and I vote boy!
